Is it the most well-known club in the world?
Maybe it is, maybe not (who cares, actually?). But CBGB (& OMFUG) was the primordial ooze from which sprang such luminaries as Talking Heads, The Ramones, and Blondie. And we're playing there in a week. Granted, it's just an audition night, but still.

Well, I know about CBGB. Which might not make it the most well known club in the world since I hardly know about anything but I DO know Talking Heads. Well... you're playing at CBGB. Let me digest that a bit. I know (well, not know, you know, but know) someone whose band is playing at CBGB??? I feel kind of famous by extension. I'm even a little star struck. Last I heard about CBGB was a while ago on Neil Gaiman's journal, that it was about to close down unless someone did something, so I guess this means that they did. This makes me happy! Go David!

Its life is still threatened, but I believe that the current date of its impending demise is October 2006.
